Claiming to know the best restaurant in Hanoi is no joke. Hanoi is filled with incredible restaurants and various unique foods, but I’m going to share my absolute favorite.
Hanoi is the 37th largest city in the world and home to over 1000 registered restaurants. In this post I’ll share my favorite restaurant, where to find it, what to order and what makes it so great.

what makes this restaurant so special?
We stumbled upon the restaurant, Bách Phuong, and are so grateful that we did. They exclusively serve one dish Bún Bò Nam Bô aka Beef Noodle Salad. If you’ve never tried this phenomenal dish, let me explain it to you.
What is Beef Noodle Salad?
This dish has everything you could ever ask for. It’s savory, sweet, tangy, herbaceous and texturally complex.
It’s full of fresh herbs and fresh lettuce, pickled vegetables, crispy friend shallots, crunchy peanuts, chewy rice noodles and deliciously marinated beef. The liquid, or dressing, poured on top is a tangy and delicious mixture of broth, fish sauce, vinegar, lime juice, sugar and garlic – yum!
The noodles are warm, but the rest of the dish is cold making it feel like a very hardy salad.

At less than $3 USD this is an absolute steal for meal. Especially when visiting Vietnam during the hotter months, having a refreshing salad is a perfect break from eating steaming hot bowls of pho.
