The best thing at this incredibly yummy bakery is their caramel & muesli sweet roll (blautdeig).
The Icelandic term (blautdeig) translates to a special Icelandic ‘wet dough’ that keeps the dough softer, chewier and fresh tasting. The muesli, or granola, topping paired with the sweet caramel is next level. The various textures and flavors make this treat next-level.
what makes this such a great bakery in reykjavik

There are many aspects of Brauð & Co that makes it such a special bakery in Reykjavik.
- Attention to Quality Ingredients – Organic, high quality ingredients with no fuss presentation. Their website states where the flour comes from and their prideful use of Icelandic butter and sea salt. They, and their customers, believe that the high quality ingredients make a delicious difference.
- Fresh Breads and Pastries – Instead of mass producing dough or baked goods at an offsite location, each store bakes their own pastries and breads. This maintains the integrity of the pastries and ensures freshness.
- Sharing Their Recipe – Rather than keeping their recipe a secret, they are excited to share with you! If you want to try making these at home, they share the recipe on their website here!
